The South Texas summer heat is no joke. Add a broken A/C to the mix, and you’re in for a world of hurt until you get your vehicle to the mechanic’s. While there are plenty of things that can go wrong with your car’s air conditioning, weak air flow is a common one. And an ultra-annoying one, at that!

There will be heat, and sweat. There may even be tears.

But not to worry. Once you determine what’s causing your weak airflow, you can get to work on a fix.

Your vehicle may be experiencing weak airflow due to the following:

  • Mildew or mold may have built up in your evaporator core. This can occur due to residual moisture during the air conditioning’s cooling process. Because of this, it may be hard for air to reach your vents.
  • You’ve got a loose hose. This can happen to the blower hose that supplies the blower unit with air.
  • Your ventilation fan is burnt out. If it’s not blowing, then you won’t be getting the air you need.
  • Broken seals. Whether your core case seal, blower house seal or evaporator core case seal, an open seal can rid you of air flow, and compromise your entire A/C system.
