You’ve showered, gotten dressed, grabbed your keys and headed out the door. The only problem?

Your car won’t start!

Major bummer! Nothing can ruin your day quite like a vehicle that won’t start, but it does happen. It may even happen before a big meeting, or as you’re trying to get your child ready for school. There are many reasons why your car may not be starting, but with so many components to your vehicle, how can you be sure which it is? It may be your engine, or it could be your transmission. What if it’s your carburetor? If you’re met with nothing but heartache when you try to start your car, there’s an underlying issue that needs addressing. While it may take a trip to the mechanic’s to get to the bottom of it, here are a few things it could be:

Broken Starter

If your car won’t start, it would make sense that something’s wrong with (you guessed it) the starter! This one little motor has a big job, in that it gets your vehicle to start in the first place. If you hear a clicking noise when you try to turn your engine on, your starter may very well be the source of trouble. Get it repaired or replaced immediately to get your vehicle starting like new again. Our Payne dealerships can help!

Dead Battery

This one is pretty common. So common, in fact, that you may have encountered it a few times in your life already. A dead car battery can happen for many reasons, one of which is hot, dry weather. You’ll know a dead battery is to blame when you turn your key and don’t hear a peep. Once you’ve figured this out, it’s time for a jumpstart! Take extra caution when jumpstarting your vehicle. You may want to consult your owner’s manual as a guide. Typically, all you’ll need is a set of jumper cables and a working engine to get the job done.

Empty Gas Tank

It isn’t the first time it happens, and it certainly won’t be the last time. You slipped up and let your car’s gas tank get to the point of no return. No worries! Filling up your tank with some gas will get it up and running in no time. Get your car off to the side of the road if it stops suddenly.
