The fall season is nearly upon us! It’s been a fun summer, but now it’s time to get geared up for the months ahead. Aside from cooler weather, getting prepared means getting your car ready for the elements. Here are a few simple tips to get you started with your fall time car preparations.

Opt for a Vehicle Inspection

A full vehicle inspection is a wise idea to start the season off right. Doing so will give you a good idea of what you’ll need to replace immediately, or at least keep on your radar. Whether brakes, wipers or your engine, you’ll want everything working properly once that unpredictable South Texas weather creeps up.

Check Your Tread

There are few things more important for your car than tires! Therefore, a tread check is in order if you want to make sure your tires are running smoothly through fall. Tread depth should be at least 2/32”. Anything lower, and you’re risking an accident. Use a penny to measure tread depth. This is one of the simplest ways to determine if your tires are good to go. If you happen to live in a snow-filled area, consider purchasing winter tires. These can make all the difference in traction while you drive.

Examine Your Wipers

South Texas weather is erratic on its own. Add rain to the mix, and you could be in for a world of trouble if you’re not prepared. Prior to fall, make sure your wipers are in working order. You don’t want to be caught without them in the event of a storm. Take our word for it!
