It seems like every year dealers discontinue vehicles in order to set their focuses on newer models. Whether it be for a time being or a permanent retirement, here are a few vehicles being discontinued after 2019.
Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe
After 5 years on the market and over 1,700 units sold stateside, the Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe is departing from Alfa Romeo’s supercar lineup. The news of the discontinuation came in late 2018, but it seems like time has caught up with us and this sports coupe is gone for good.
Chevrolet Cruze
With 10 years on the market, the Chevrolet Cruze is going off into that good night. News of the vehicle’s discontinuation came in late 2018, with General Motors announcing that it will not discontinue the Cruze in all markets. General Motors announced the discontinuation of the Chevy Volt, Impala, Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac Ct6 & XTS as well, in order to meet the demand for crossovers and pickup trucks.
Ford Fiesta
It seems like the Fiesta is finally over with Ford announcing the discontinuation of the Ford Fiesta. Originally introduced to the market in 2011 as a subcompact car with a promise of saving drivers money on gas. Ford announced a major revamp of its lineup, discontinuing all models except the Mustang and Focus hatch.
Volkswagen Golf
Although Volkswagen hasn’t officially announced the Golf’s departure in the U.S., there are rumors that the next generation of the Golf won’t be here for 2020. Motor1 reports that Volkswagen only sold 6,642 units of the base Golf in 2018–enough to make VW consider striking it from the U.S. market altogether.
