Celebrating the Border Patrol!

The Payne Auto Group Street Team joined other businesses Saturday for the 2018 Border Patrol Picnic.

Held at Mercedes Livestock Show Grounds, the event gives support for the organization, and shows appreciation for local agents.

Hosted by the RGV Sector and the Weslaco Border Patrols Officer’s Association Braggin’ Rights Cook-Off, participants at the event were given prizes for completing a number of activities. These included scavenger hunts, baking competitions and other festival games.

The 2018 Picnic

The 2018 picnic included live music from Chris Marshall of the Payne Street Team, as well as other performers.

Additionally, members of various sectors squared off for a barbecue cook-off. Correspondingly, local members of the community judged cooked meats like fajita, and chicken to see which team earned first place.

“It’s such a wonderful experience,” said Donna Shawhan, Creative Director for the Payne Auto Group. “We are so happy that we get to be out here, and contribute to the support of these men and women.”
