On Friday July 6, 2018 Payne Weslaco Chevrolet held their annual Free Car Friday event. Customers were encouraged throughout the week of July 4 through social media and radio to enter their name for a chance to win a Chevy Spark. Perspective winners filed into the event around 5 p.m. to enter their last-minute entries and tour their potential new car.
At 6 p.m. sharp the contest began. Jackie Cervantes, the emcee of the event and General Sales Manager of the store, asked the crowd for a volunteer to pull out the name of the lucky winner. A young volunteer by the name of Emily stepped up and pulled out the name of Jocelyn Gomez. Stunned and surprised, Ms. Gomez approached Jackie to claim her new car. To add to Ms. Gomez’s luck, she said she found out about the contest through Snapchat and decided to enter due to her own car being totaled a few weeks earlier.
The Chevy Spark is the perfect family car, with safety features such as brake assist, rear vision camera, 10 total airbags; entertainment features such as Sirius XM, Bluetooth capabilities, voice command, Apple and Android play compatible, two USB data ports and contains a 6 speaker sound system for amazing surround sound and is WIFI compatible for up to seven devices at a time.
