The BorderFest Festival

The city of Hidalgo celebrated it’s 42nd BorderFest Friday at the State Farm Arena.  The three-day event is the largest music, culture and heritage festival in South Texas.

BorderFest pays recognition to different countries every year. Likewise, this years festival welcomed Spain’s culture and history. Correspondingly, the community-wide gathering attracts thousands of volunteers, local residents and international visitors to the Rio Grande Valley.

Additionally, visitors particpated in games, such as the Payne Auto Group’s Spin-to-Win, taking home T-Shirts, keychains and other accessories.

Uniquely, the Marshall Law Band, Whiskey D and the La Joya Folkorico were part of the entertainment that also covered hypnotists and other perfromers across genres like Tejano, Country and Rock and Dance.
