Payne Auto Group Kicks Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Every October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Payne Auto Group supports the cause!

Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. The warning signs vary from woman to woman. It is extremely important to self-examine your breasts at least once a month. For a guide on how to properly examine your breasts for lumps, check out the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. website.

Payne Auto Group recognizes the importance of drawing awareness to this debilitating disease. That is why every October across our dealerships we participate in Breast Cancer Awareness as many ways as we can.

Payne Chevrolet is making it a point to spread awareness through the #IDriveFor campaign. The #IDriveFor campaign has been going for the last eight years and has raised $10 million for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program. This campaign is special because it’s focused on the Internet. Chevrolet’s website states: “Every time #IDriveFor is used on Twitter or Instagram we’ll contribute $5 to the American Cancer Society until we reach our $400,000 goal.” That means everyone who shares #IDriveFor is part of the cause!

Payne Auto Group also sponsors the South Padre Island Walk for Women charity walk and fundraising event. This weekend-long event is to take place from October 5 – 7 at South Padre Island.

This years theme is Roaring 20’s themed! The fundraiser weekend starts off with a Roaring 20’s Casino Night at Louie’s Backyard on October 5th. This event is complete with hors-d’oeuvres, a cash bar, gaming tables, $500 gaming chips and a live auction and raffle!

October 6 rolls in with the Walk for Women Bay Fishing Tournament! The tournament is hosted at Louie’s Backyard with a weigh in at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m. Lunch, trophies and an award ceremony to follow.

And finally, on October 7, the Walk for Women. This is a day for breast cancer awareness, support, remembrance and celebration. The walk begins at South Padre Island Convention Centre at 10 a.m. and ends at Louie’s Backyard with refreshments.

For more information about this fundraiser, please visit the SPI Walk for Women website.

Payne Auto Group also makes sure to wear pink every Friday to bring awareness locally. Be sure to stop by every Friday to see the Payne Auto Mall and our outlying stores dressed in pink!

We are proud supporters of our community and want to remind everyone this month to Keep Calm and Fight On!
