School’s out for summer, but that doesn’t mean kids aren’t getting their knowledge on! McAllen public library is sponsoring Children’s Summer Reading Program 2018.

Deedre Payne Reading to Children

To help promote this amazing opportunity for children, Deedre Payne of Payne Auto Group attended Lark Branch Library on July 26 to read to the children in attendance.

Some of the books Deedre read were The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, Bear in My Bed by Joyce Wan, and Jamboree Day by Rhonda Gowler Green.

The Children’s Summer Reading Program is a program dedicated to helping teens and children read throughout the summer break. The program consists of reading or listening to books for points. Members of the program track the books they complete through an online or paper reading log. When the members reach their goal, they return to the McAllen Public Library to claim their prize.
