From the vibrant culture to the sunny weather, there are plenty of reasons to love South Texas. One thing that’s not so loveable?

The potholes!

Potholes rank high on the list of top annoyances while driving in South Texas. You may have ran into one (or many) recently, and were left wondering if maybe you hit it just a little too hard. Or maybe you were driving too fast when you made impact. Now, you’ve got a feeling that something with your vehicle just isn’t quite right. Here are a few pothole damage signs to look out for the next time a massive pothole rears its ugly head.

You may notice that your steering wheel feels a little off after hitting a pothole. If it seems off-center, you may have affected your wheel alignment or steering component. Get it checked before it turns into a more costly repair.

Strange sounds coming from your car? It could be many things, but if you recently hit a huge pothole, you may have done some damage. Something may be amiss within your exhaust system, meaning an inspection is in order soon.

You may have encountered a monster pothole, and now you have a flat tire. Do NOT continue to drive on your flat. Doing so could lead to more damage, which will result in a more costly repair. Some tires offer extra protection in the case of potholes. Exploring these options may be wise if you live in an area prone to pesky potholes.
