Collision damage can be categorized into three different categories: minor, moderate, and severe. So, what do each of these categories include?
Minor
Minor damage is usually cosmetic damage and doesn’t affect the vehicle significantly. Minor damage can include scratches, dings, small dents, or a cracked headlight or taillight. Although the damage may be minor, it is still good to get an estimate in case there is any internal damage.
Moderate
Moderate damage is damage that is more noticeable and could possibly start to affect your vehicle’s performance or even daily use. Moderate damage can include large dents, damaged crumple zones, doors unable to open, or the airbags deployed.
Severe
Severe damage is damage done that makes the vehicle virtually undrivable. Severe damage can include broken axles, extremely damaged frame, airbags deployed, complete areas of the vehicle damaged, and extensive under-hood damage.
