Do a Pre-Ride Inspection
There are three ways a motorcycle is powered: chain-driven, belt-driven, or shaft-driven. The chain or belt of the motorcycle is what gets the bike moving, so any damage to those components will cause problems. Always check out your motorcycle before you ride it, and be sure everything looks good.
Always Wear Protective Gear
This should be a ‘no-brainer’, but wearing protective gear whenever you ride is extremely important. Invest in Kevlar-reinforced / armored pants and jacket, a helmet that covers the whole head, and protective gloves and shoes.
Research Local Motorcycle Laws
Each state has different motorcycle laws riders must abide by. Texas has specific laws regarding helmets, parking, road rules, and more. Be sure to research your state’s laws in order to stay safe on the road.
