You may have heard of tire rotation before, but what exactly is it and is it important? Read on to find out WHY tire rotation matters!

What is Tire Rotation?

Tire rotation is when tires are rotated around the vehicle to stop uneven tread. Rotating the tires can give your vehicle better performance and safety for a longer amount of time.

Why it Matters

The weight of a car is not distributed evenly in all four corners, the front wheels take most of the weight from the engine, steering, and braking, compared to the back wheels. Because of this, the front tires tend to wear faster than the rear tires.

Tire rotation matters because it helps avoid uneven tire wear by regularly moving each tire to a different corner of the vehicle. By doing this, each tire then experiences different tread wear rather than suffer the same wear over time, and all tires will then wear out at relatively the same time.

It is recommended that you should rotate your tires every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, or by what your vehicle’s manual suggests.
